The mission of the Darby Borough Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in the Borough of Darby through the protection of life and property, the preservation of peace, the protection of individual rights and the reduction of fear of crime through the delivery of professional police service.”

Our Philosophy

To accomplish this mission, the Darby Borough Police Department in cooperation with the community will:

 Chief Robert Smythe has held the position of Chief of the Darby Borough Police Department for over 25 years. In his career as a public servant of the Borough of Darby, he has additionally held the positions of Patrolman, Sergeant, and Lieutenant.
